BARRY CAWSTON
Celebrated photographic artist Barry Cawston is the recipient of numerous awards including the prestigious President’s Award at the Royal West of England (RWA) Open Photography Exhibition and becoming an invited RWA Academician. Cawston’s work demonstrates that, in the hands of an artist of talent, photography can be a powerfully expressive medium able to create art of great beauty and transmuting the ordinary into the unexpected. Cawston’s images, whether landscape or cityscape, interior or figurative, are testament to his fascination with shape, pattern, colour and context. Coupled with his unique metaphors and associations, these qualities take on a poetry that is as stunning as it is emotive. His work showcases an almost visceral response to the visual world.
